For 30 years we have provided solar, wind, energy conservation services, and high performance building systems to our design/build clients. Since 2007 we have been offering these same services to all Vineyard homes, businesses, and institutions. Rob Meyers is our sales manager and Phil Forest manages system design and installation. The newest member of our team, Marc Rosenbaum has been responsible for some of the most advanced buildings in New England. For 20 of those, he has been our constant collaborator as a consultant. Now he has joined us to manage this department and increase the depth and breadth of our abilities.

The SMC Energy business model is simple. Start with the actions that will yield the most benefit with the least effort - pick the low-hanging fruit. Energy efficiency improvements do this best, and therefore this is how we conduct our service:

When you call us, Marc and Rob will conduct a thorough audit, based on nationally recognized RESNET standards, that consists of the following:

• Meeting with you to determine needs and desires;
• Conducting an energy audit and renewable energy assessment;
• Producing a report with recommended energy efficiency improvements;
• Producing a preliminary concept design for optimal use of solar.
• Our audit fee is based on the size and complexity of your building(s) and property.

The reports will have rough costs associated with the recommendations. After you receive them, you can decide whether to proceed, and with what.
When the decision is made to proceed, we will:

• Design and implement the improvements and/or system(s);
• Help you obtain all available rebates and tax credits;
• Maintain the system(s) as long as you wish.

We provide design and installation of complete solar systems and we are the local dealer for Sunpower solar electric panels, which we think are the best in the business.

We also provide complete sales and service of Loewen Windows and Doors to island architects, builders, and homeowners. We provide these services mainly on the Vineyard, but occasionally venture beyond our shores.

There are a variety of renewable energy tax credits, rebate programs, and incentives available.
